２月の装花

“冬来りなば　春遠からずや”

イギリスの抒情詩人、パーシー・ビッシュ・シェリーの詩、
「西風へ寄せる歌」（シェリー詩集、上田和夫訳、新潮社）の一節から。

寒い冬が来るということは、それに耐えれば必ず暖かい春がくる。
辛い時期を耐え抜けば、幸せな時期は必ず来るという例え。
しんとした真冬の空気の中、柔らかな陽射しで雪が融け、花々が
咲き始める景色を創りました。少しずつ近づく春の足音を心待ちに。

　Warm spring always comes after enduring the freezing winter. It is a befitting metaphor that happier times will always come after enduring hardships. I created a scene where soft sunlight melts the snow, while flowers begin to bloom in the silent winter air. We look forward to hearing the footsteps of the approaching Spring.

新しい年が始まりました。今年は季節の巡りとともに、

新しい時代の始まりを感じてワクワクする気持ちに満たされています。

植物がじっくりと時間をかけ、根を張り、枝を空に伸ばしていくように

新しい時代を、自分たちの足で歩んでいきたいものです。

本年もどうぞよろしくお願いいたします。

“Dawn of a new era”

A new year has begun. This year, as the seasons come and go,

we are filled with a sense of excitement at the beginning of a new era.

We want to walk through this new era on our own two feet,

just as plants take their time, put down roots and

extend their branches into the sky.

11月の装花　”白”

主な花材：竹、キングプロテア

白は、“全ての色の可視光線が乱反射されたときに、その物体の表面を見たヒトが知覚する色”のこと。（Wikipediaによる）

白は、旧石器時代のから使われる、史上最も古い色。ギリシャでは神殿、日本でも祭事などにも使われてきました。世界各国で“神聖な、純粋、純潔、無垢、誠実、平和、中立、清潔”というイメージもあります。

今回、私は、“リセット”の意味で、白い世界を創りました。

年末に向け、心の奥に潜り、今までの常識や思い込み、制限を外し、無限の可能性に気づき、本来の自分の個性を発揮して生きて行く準備。

心の大掃除です。

一人一人が本来の個性＝色を発揮し、白く輝く世界になりますように。

November Ikebana　

Theme: “White”

Materials: bamboo, king protea

A white object or surface, as seen by human eyes, fully reflects and scatters all visible wavelengths of light of all colours, according to Wikipedia.

The colour white has been used since the stone age, and is known as the oldest colour in human history. It was used for the temples of Ancient Greece, as well as for shrine rituals in Japan up to present day. Worldwide, we generally hold a positive attitude toward white as a colour that is holy, pure, virtuous, innocent, honest, peaceful, neutral and clean.

For this month I have created a white scene, in the sense of resetting what we presently face in our lives and our world.

I would like to inspire everyone to try to find their natural colours deep within, and enjoy utilizing them to create a personal white world, or clean slate in other words. This is how each of us can reaffirm and reset our individualities and opportunities to utilize in real life.

10月の装花”錦秋”

主な花材：桐・カラスウリ・スティールグラス、雑木

　錦秋とは、

“木々が紅葉して錦の織物のように美しい秋”のこと。

”錦“とは、美しいもの、立派なものという意味もあります。

　日本には四季があり、また国土が南北に長いため、多種多様な樹木の紅葉が生み出す、赤や黄色のグラデーションの美しさは世界でも類い稀なものです。今月は、秋の深まる日本の里山の木々が紅葉し、様々な色で織りなす美しい景色を表現しました。

多種多様な人々が、それぞれの個性を生かし、“錦”＝　心地よいハーモニーを織りなす世界になりますように。

October Ikebana “Magnificent Autumn”

Materials: paulownia, trichosanthes cucumeroides, grass tree

Kin-Shu literally means the brilliance of autumn leaves, as in a rich brocade fabric, across the mountains in Japan.

Kin also means beautiful and admirable.

The four seasons stretch across the land from north to south. The extraordinarily beautiful scenery in Japan, illuminated by red and yellow gradations of its autumn foliage, is unparalleled in the world.

This Ikebana presentation represents the stunning autumn scenery of Japan’s brocaded foliage, accentuating its vivid seasonal colour changes across various tree types throughout hills, woods and mountains.

I set my intentions on a Kin type of world – a pleasing and harmonious world filled with many different and happy people free to enjoy individual personalities.
